Today you would have turned 80 years.
When we look at the photo,
how you were watching as an angel over the divided Berlin 35 years ago,
we can’t help but miss these eyes more than ever,
this relaxed, loving, knowing look at people.
How good it would do to us
what you performed back then:
one who is leaning on us, patienly listening to our thoughts,
and taking part in our fears and worries.
What it means to be an angel to others,
you have shown it to many people!
